After nearly three decades at the iconic Phillip Island circuit, the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix is set to relocate following the 2026 event.
The Victorian government confirmed it would not grant the event organiser's request to move the race to Melbourne's Albert Park, leading to the decision to move the event out of Victoria.

Minister for Sports and Events Steve Dimopoulos stated that while the government met various requests, including the licence fee, they were unwilling to compromise on the location. The new venue for the Australian MotoGP has not been officially announced, but speculation suggests a potential move to South Australia. An announcement regarding the future location is expected soon.

The departure of the MotoGP from Phillip Island marks a significant shift in Australia's motorsport landscape. The event has been a major draw for motorsport enthusiasts, contributing substantially to the local economy and tourism. Fans and stakeholders await further details on the future of the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.
